Pizza & Sauce
- 1 ball 450 g pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
- 2 tbsp 30 ml olive oil
- 120 ml 1/2 cup sour cream
- 60 ml 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 tsp dried dill
- 1/2 tsp fresh dill chopped
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp pickle juice
- Pinch of salt and black pepper
Toppings
- 200 g 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 200 g 2 cups dill pickles, thinly sliced and well drained
- Optional: 4 slices cooked bacon crumbled or 100 g cooked ham
- Fresh dill for garnish
Preheat oven to 250°C (500°F) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside. Roll dough into a 30 cm (12-inch) circle. Brush edges with olive oil.
Mix sour cream, mayonnaise, dill, garlic powder, and pickle juice in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Spread the sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1 cm (1/2-inch) border.
Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and Parmesan, then add half of the pickle slices.
Add the remaining cheese and pickles, and top with bacon or ham if using.
Bake for 11–13 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
Let the pizza rest for 2 minutes before sprinkling with fresh dill. Slice and serve.
Always pat pickles dry to avoid soggy crust.
Try garlic-cream or red sauce for variation.
Sauce can be made ahead and stored for 5 days.
Pizza dough can be refrigerated for 3 days or frozen for 3 months.
